Dallas Burton developed a number of valued relationships over his lifetime. He was known as a practical joker who enjoyed ribbing his friends and family. He loved and adored his caring mother, Eldora Mae (Sherffius) Burton, who lived to be 96 year old. Up until her passing in March 2015, Dallas called almost every day and drove to Emporia to visit her often.
Dallas also had a close relationship with his sister, Velva, who has a family of her own in Louisiana. She would often travel to visit Dallas at his cattle sales, as would his brother, Dennis, who attended a memorable Holiday E.T. Extravaganza cruise in the Caribbean. He also spent time with his younger brothers, Vaden and Delwin, and family gatherings were always full of good-hearted humor and smiles.
Most of all, Dallas enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Linda, who would accompany him on occasional travels and often times clerked his cattle sales. They traveled extensively over their 20-plus-year marriage, including trips to Italy, Hawaii, the Bahamas, an Alaskan cruise, and several cruises to the Caribbean.
Dallas was especially proud of his children, Shawn and Kevin, along with his step-children, Shawn and Shae, and their respective families. He will be remembered as a proud grandfather of six.
Dallas Burton was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren.
